ABSTRACT
In this study, a method to obtain supercavitation underwater high-speed projectile velocity by using high speed photographic camera and its system composition are introduced. Some traditional edge detection methods based on edge detection operator are compared and Canny operator is chosen to be the best one. Whats more, some speed calculating methods are also introduced and the causes of calculation error of high speed photographic methods are analyzed carefully. Finally, the calculation method of uncertainty in measurement is made clear. The accuracy of the speed calculation is analyzed according to the actual parameters and it turns out that the results completely meet the practical engineering requirements.
