ABSTRACT
Characteristics of guided wave in adhesively bonded composite structures are studied in this paper. Hamiltons principle and semi-analytical finite element method are combined to formulate equations of motion and dispersion. Material property in the composite is expressed in the global coordinate system through rotation matrix. In numerical calculation, a 16 layer adhesively bonded composites is investigated. Results showed that phase velocity dispersion curves decreased slightly when states of adhesive layer changing from properly bonded to disbond in plate model and variation in pipe model is noticeable.
